The brows and upper rim create nearby facial lines
The eyebrows create a major horizontal flow above the eyes, while the upper rim adds another line in a similar area.
They may visually connect when their directions are similar, or the frame may look more independent when they differ.
Neither result is automatically better.
02 · PARALLEL
Similar directions can feel visually connected
A straighter brow and a straighter top line, or a curved brow and a gently curved frame, can create a sense of continuity.
But a frame does not have to copy the brow shape to look appropriate.
03 · OVERLAP
Some brow overlap can be completely normal
It is common for the upper rim to overlap part of the brows visually, and this alone is not a fitting error.
If the frame sits much higher or lower than expected, check whether bridge or nose-pad fit has changed the wearing height.
Some browline designs intentionally emphasize this area.
04 · GAP
The gap depends on both design and wearing position
A low-sitting frame can increase the space between the brows and frame, but shallow designs can also be intentionally lower in profile.
Do not diagnose fitting from the gap alone; first confirm the normal wearing position.
05 · FIT FIRST
Do not distort the optical wearing position to match the brows
Over-adjusting the nose pads or bridge only to align the frame with the brows can change wearing height, vertex distance and pantoscopic tilt.
Stabilize the fit first and judge the design from that position.
