Look at effective wearing width rather than lens number
For a wider face, first check whether the front and endpieces provide enough actual wearing width.
The temples should not flare excessively and should run naturally toward the ears.
A large A dimension does not automatically guarantee a wide effective fit.
02 · ENDPIECE
A frame can use modest lens sizes with wider endpieces
Even if the lens openings are not large, generous endpieces can create enough overall front width.
So a larger face does not automatically need larger lenses.
03 · LENS CONDITIONS
Do not enlarge the lenses unnecessarily just to gain width
An unnecessarily large lens opening can require a larger lens blank and add weight, and depending on the prescription it can also worsen thickness conditions.
In high myopia, larger effective diameter and decentration can increase edge thickness.

A wide face does not necessarily need a wide bridge
Nose anatomy is independent of outer face width.
If the nose is narrow or the internal bridge shape is unsuitable, even a large frame can sit low or slip.

Adequate base width reduces unnecessary temple load
If the wearer has a wide face but the frame is narrow, the temples and hinges need to open much farther during wear.
With adequate base width, the temples can run toward the ears without excessive spread.
Temple length and ear position should also be checked.
