01 · PRESSURE

Small pads can concentrate pressure more easily

When the contact area is small, the same front load can be transferred through a narrower part of the nose.

With a heavier frame front, marks or pressure may therefore feel stronger.

02 · DISTRIBUTION

Larger pads can help spread load

A larger pad that actually matches the nose can support the frame over a broader area and help distribute pressure.

If the pad does not make broad contact, however, simply increasing size offers little benefit.

03 · FIT

Matching the nose matters more than size alone

A large pad can still contact only at one edge if its slope or curvature does not suit the nose.

A small pad can be comfortable when it fits well and the front load is modest.

04 · APPEARANCE

There is also a design difference

Smaller pads are less visible and can keep the frame looking lighter.

Larger pads are more noticeable but may be chosen when comfort and pressure distribution are higher priorities.

05 · WEARING HEIGHT

Changing pad size can change frame position

A different pad can also differ in thickness and mounting geometry, changing where the frame is supported on the nose.

After replacement, recheck wearing height, vertex distance and left-right contact.

Large pads are not a universal solution

If the pad does not match the nose, increasing its size will not remove the problem. Choose based on real contact and the load of the frame.
