Key point first

When only one nose pad contacts the nose, check frame-front alignment, left-right pad height and angle, nasal asymmetry and unequal temple pressure in that order.

01 · FRAME ALIGNMENT

First check whether the frame itself is twisted

Do not move the pad first just because only one side touches.

If the frame front is already twisted, pad position and nose contact will also differ from side to side.

Confirm the frame itself is in a proper reference state before adjusting the pads.

02 · PAD HEIGHT

The two pads may sit at different heights

If one pad arm sits higher or lower, the point at which each pad meets the nose also changes.

One pad may contact first while the other does not obtain enough contact.

03 · PAD ANGLE

Different angles can also make one side lose contact

Even when the pad heights look similar, a pad whose slope does not match the nose can have very little real contact area.

Check angle and curvature together with height and spacing.

04 · FACIAL ASYMMETRY

The nose itself may not be symmetrical

The two sides of the nose can differ slightly in height, slope and bridge position.

That means identical-looking pad shapes do not always create equal contact, and small asymmetrical adjustments may be needed for the actual face.

05 · TEMPLE BALANCE

Unequal temple pressure can also affect pad contact

If one temple pushes more strongly or the frame rotates to one side, nose-pad contact can change as well.

The direction in which a pad lifts depends on the whole fitting, so do not assume a fixed direction from temple pressure alone.

SOLUTION GUIDE

Solutions at a glance

The frame itself is tilted

Check front alignment first.

One pad sits higher

Compare pad height and contact position.

The heights look similar but one side floats

Check pad angle and curvature.

It still contacts only one side after adjustment

Check nasal asymmetry and temple pressure too.

GLANOS FITTING CHECK

GLANOS fitting check order

  1. Front
    Check the frame for twist.
  2. Nose pads
Compare height, angle and left-right contact.
  3. Width
    Compare temple pressure.
  4. Temple bend
Check that rear support is not rotating the frame.

CAUTION

Do not simply push the floating pad inward

If the real cause is the frame front or temple balance, moving only the pad can make the overall balance worse. Find the cause from the front backward.
