There is no fixed refitting interval for everyone. Changes such as slipping, tilt, pain, hinge play and nose-pad deterioration are more useful signals.
01 · NO FIXED RULE
There is no single schedule for every wearer
Someone who wears glasses all day uses them differently from someone who wears them only occasionally.
Outdoor activity, exercise and work environment also change how much force and heat the frame experiences.
Rather than assuming everyone needs refitting every few months, watch for changes in the frame and fit.
02 · SLIPPING
Check the fit if the frame has started slipping more
If glasses that used to fit well now slide down more often, temple spread, rear bends, nose pads or bridge contact may have changed.
This is one of the clearest signs that the fit should be checked.
03 · TILT
New tilt or rotation is another signal
If the two sides no longer sit at the same height or the frame starts rotating, the front or temples may have changed shape.
If this appeared after one-handed removal, impact or poor storage, inspect the whole alignment.
04 · SCREW & HINGE
Screws and hinges are worth checking when play appears
A loose hinge screw or hinge wear can make a temple feel loose.
It is usually better to check visible play or wobble before a screw falls out completely.
05 · NOSE PAD
Nose pads are also wear components
Silicone pads can discolor, harden or change surface condition with use.
If grip or comfort changes, inspect the pads and consider replacement when appropriate.
SOLUTION GUIDE
Key points at a glance
Check the fit.
Check the front and both temples.
Check pressure distribution and wearing position.
Inspect the hinge and screw.
Check pad condition and replacement need.
GLANOS FITTING CHECK
GLANOS fitting check order
- Front
Check deformation and tilt. - Nose pads / bridge
Check contact and wear. - Width
Check temple spread. - Temple bend
Check rear support.
CAUTION
You do not need to wait until the frame becomes very uncomfortable
Small deformation or screw play can often be easier to address early. If the fit has clearly changed, recheck the whole frame rather than waiting for severe discomfort.
