Key point first

Good fitting aims for a balance where the frame remains comfortable without becoming so loose that lens position is unstable, or so tight that pressure becomes excessive.

01 · TOO LOOSE

Too loose means the lens position keeps changing

A frame that slides down or moves whenever the head moves may feel low in pressure.

But wearing height and vertex distance can keep changing and lens position becomes unstable.

That is why immediate comfort alone does not define a good fit.

02 · TOO TIGHT

Too tight makes long wear difficult

A narrow frame and aggressive ear bend may hold position well.

But pressure can develop at the temples, ears or nose, so stronger fixation is not automatically better.

03 · NOSE SUPPORT

The frame should first be supported stably at the nose

The frame front needs stable nose support.

Metal nose pads or a plastic bridge should match the wearer; unstable nose support often leads to excessive clamping elsewhere.

04 · TEMPLE SUPPORT

Temples mainly control unwanted movement

The temples limit side-to-side movement and the rear fitting helps limit forward movement.

Only the amount of support actually needed should be used to preserve long-wear comfort.

05 · BALANCE

Find the balance between comfort and stability

A well-fitted frame does not shift much during normal daily movement.

At the same time, it should not cause persistent pain at specific contact points. Both conditions need to be satisfied.

SOLUTION GUIDE

Key points at a glance

Comfortable at rest but slips with movement

Check whether positional stability is insufficient.

Never moves but hurts over time

Check for excessive pressure.

Only the nose hurts

Check whether front pressure and load are concentrated.

Only the temples and ears hurt

Check whether the sides and rear are clamping too strongly.

GLANOS FITTING CHECK

GLANOS fitting check order

  1. Front
    Confirm the frame reference state.
  2. Nose pads / bridge
    Stabilize the front support.
  3. Width
Use only the side support needed.
  4. Temple bend
    Limit forward movement without over-clamping.

CAUTION

Do not optimize only one side of the equation

Maximum comfort with no stability, or maximum stability with excessive pressure, both miss the goal. Check long-wear comfort and daily positional stability together.
