Because adjusting one part changes other fitting variables, it is efficient to work from the frame front to nose support, side width and finally the temple bends.
01 · CHAIN EFFECT
Every part of the frame is connected
Glasses are made of separate components, but they behave as one structure when worn.
Changing nose-pad position can alter wearing height and frame-to-face distance.
Changing temple width can affect side pressure, fore-aft position and stability, while changing the temple bend can influence the position and tilt of the front.
02 · FRONT FIRST
That is why the front comes first
If the frame itself is twisted, adjusting the pads or temples first can create compensating adjustments around the wrong reference.
If one rim sits higher or the frame is rotated, restore the front to a proper reference condition first.
The frame front is the starting point for later fitting decisions.
03 · NOSE SECOND
Next comes the nose pads or bridge
Once the front is set, check how the frame is supported on the nose.
With metal frames, inspect pad height, angle and contact area; with plastic frames, inspect how the bridge contacts the nose.
This stage largely establishes basic wearing height and position in front of the eyes.
04 · WIDTH THIRD
Then check the side width
After the frame is positioned on the nose, assess how the temples travel along both sides of the head.
Too wide can reduce side support, while too narrow can create temple pressure.
Correct width helps the final ear fitting work without compensation.
05 · BEND LAST
The temple bends come last
Behind-ear fitting is the final step that limits forward movement and unwanted motion as needed.
If the front is not properly fitted, bending the temples strongly only holds an unresolved front problem from the rear.
SOLUTION GUIDE
Key points at a glance
Check that the frame itself is straight.
Set the basic position and nose contact.
Check side support and pressure.
Add only the rear support needed.
GLANOS FITTING CHECK
GLANOS fitting check order
- Front
Check frame alignment. - Nose pads / bridge
Check wearing height and nose contact. - Width
Check side pressure and support. - Temple bend
Finalize stability without excessive force.
CAUTION
Adjusting the painful part first can hide the real cause
Changing the nose pads immediately because the nose hurts, or tightening the ear bends first because the frame slips, can change other variables. A consistent sequence makes the cause easier to identify.
