Key point first

Glasses that once fit well can gradually loosen as hinges and screws, temple spread, nose-pad condition, acetate shape and daily handling change with use.

01 · HINGE

Hinges and screws are moving parts

The hinges open and close repeatedly every day.

Screws can gradually loosen, and the hinge itself can develop wear or play.

If a temple moves much more freely than before or wobbles, inspect both the screw and hinge.

02 · TEMPLE SPREAD

Temples are repeatedly spread during use

Each time glasses are put on, the temples open to the width of the wearer’s head.

One-handed removal or wearing glasses on top of the head can repeatedly force them wider than normal.

Over time, overall width and temple direction can change.

03 · NOSE PAD

Nose pads do not remain unchanged forever

Silicone pads can harden or change surface characteristics with age.

Pad arms can also shift slightly from repeated handling or external force, changing height, spacing or angle.

These changes can affect grip and stability at the nose.

04 · ACETATE DEFORMATION

Plastic frames are affected by heat and pressure

Acetate can change shape under high temperature or sustained pressure.

Hot car interiors or strong nearby heat sources can alter temple angle and front shape.

05 · DAILY USE

Daily habits influence how quickly fitting changes

One-handed removal, wearing glasses on the head or carrying them loose in a bag can apply repeated asymmetric force or pressure.

The condition of a frame depends not only on material but also on handling and storage.

SOLUTION GUIDE

Solutions at a glance

The temples move more easily than before

Check screws and hinge play.

Overall width has increased

Check temple spread.

The frame keeps sliding down

Check nose pads or bridge condition.

A plastic frame changed recently

Check heat exposure and storage.

GLANOS FITTING CHECK

GLANOS fitting check order

  1. Front
    Check overall alignment.
  2. Nose pads / bridge
Check nose support and surface condition.
  3. Width
Check temple spread and side support.
  4. Temple bend
    Recheck behind-ear support.

CAUTION

Do not keep tightening only one part because the glasses have become loose

Several areas may have changed together. Narrowing only the temples or tightening only the nose pads can create pressure elsewhere, so refitting should start from the front and proceed in sequence.
