When metal glasses rotate or drift off-center, check front alignment, left-right nose-pad balance, temple pressure, ear position and wearing habits together.
01 · FRAME ALIGNMENT
Is the frame itself already twisted to one side?
Start with the frame front.
If the front is twisted or the two rims differ in their front-back or vertical relationship, the frame can appear rotated or shifted on the face.
Adjusting the pads or temples before restoring the frame itself can create compensating errors elsewhere.
02 · NOSE PAD BALANCE
Are the two nose pads different in height or angle?
Metal frames allow the left and right pads to be adjusted independently.
Differences in pad height, angle or contact area can shift, rotate or tilt the frame.
The direction of movement depends on the wearer’s nose and the rest of the fitting, so it is better to check the actual wearing result than assume a fixed direction.
A deeper mark on one side is a useful sign of unequal pressure.
03 · TEMPLE PRESSURE
Is one temple pushing more strongly than the other?
Unequal side pressure can move the frame off center.
If only one temple feels tight or one temple flares more than the other, compare the lateral support on the face.
Good fitting does not require identical temple shapes; it requires balanced support on the wearer.
04 · EAR POSITION
Differences in ear height and front-back position also matter
The ears can differ not only in height but also in how far forward or backward they sit.
That changes where and how each temple is supported and can influence rotation or tilt.
05 · HABIT
One-handed removal can gradually distort the frame
Removing glasses with the same hand repeatedly can apply asymmetric force to one hinge and temple.
Small changes can accumulate into different spread or angle between the two sides.
Frequently placing glasses on top of the head can also over-spread the temples.
SOLUTION GUIDE
Solutions at a glance
Check front alignment first.
Compare pad height, angle and contact area.
Compare left-right temple pressure.
Check ear position and wearing habits too.
GLANOS FITTING CHECK
GLANOS fitting check order
- Front
Check the frame itself for twist. - Nose pads
Compare left-right height, angle and contact area. - Width
Check whether one temple is pushing more strongly. - Temple bend
Check support against the actual ear positions.
CAUTION
Do not immediately spread only one temple because the frame rotates
If the source is the frame front or nose pads, changing one temple alone can worsen the balance. Check front → nose pads → width → temple bend before adjusting only the necessary part.
GLANOS EYEWEAR
There is a reason glasses feel uncomfortable.
