01 · BRIDGE FIT

Does the bridge engage the nose properly?

Plastic frames depend heavily on stable bridge fit.

If contact is insufficient, the frame can move downward and forward.

A bridge that is too wide or poorly matched in height and shape can cause this repeatedly.

02 · CENTER OF GRAVITY

Is the center of mass too far forward?

A thick acetate front and large lenses can move the balance forward.

If bridge and rear support are weak, the frame may keep shifting forward.

03 · FRAME WIDTH

Is the frame too wide for the face?

If the frame is too wide, the temples provide less lateral support.

The frame then has less restraint between the nose and ears.

04 · TEMPLE FIT

Is behind-ear support too loose?

If the bend starts too late or has opened up, rear support may be insufficient.

The rear fitting should help limit forward movement without excessive pressure.

05 · NOSE PAD SUPPORT

Bridge support can sometimes be supplemented

Depending on the frame, adhesive pads can change height and contact.

Some acetate frames may accept custom acetate pads, and where structure and machining allowance permit, a professional adjustable metal nose-pad conversion can be considered.

If the frame fundamentally does not match the face, supplementation alone is limited.

CAUTION

Do not keep stacking pads just because the frame slips

Pads can help in selected cases, but they cannot fully correct a bridge that fundamentally does not fit. Check total frame size, width and rear support together.
