A frame that does not move is not necessarily well fitted. If stability comes from strong compression, long wear can create other problems.
01 · GRIP
Strong grip is easy to create
Narrowing the frame and bending the temple ends deeply can make glasses move less.
Aggressive nose-pad narrowing or pressure can also reduce slipping.
The problem is that this grip may be created by pressing specific areas of the face too strongly.
02 · PRESSURE
Pressure often becomes clearer over time
A frame may feel only slightly tight at first, then produce temple pain, pressure behind the ears or deep nose marks after hours of wear.
Fitting should be judged not only in the first few minutes but also by whether discomfort increases with time.
03 · SLIPPING
Find the reason for slipping first
Narrowing frame width is not the universal answer to slipping.
Poor nose-pad or bridge fit, front-heavy balance or insufficient rear support may be responsible.
Increasing pressure without solving the cause can simply create a new symptom.
04 · DISTRIBUTION
Good stability comes from balance, not excessive pressure
If the nose supports the front, the temples limit side movement and the rear fitting limits forward movement as needed, the frame can remain stable without heavy clamping.
The key is to divide roles among the contact points.
05 · LONG WEAR
A good fit should remain comfortable over time
Fitting quality is often clearer during real-life wear than during a few minutes in the shop.
Persistent pain or increasingly deep marks are reasons to check whether the frame is being held too tightly.
SOLUTION GUIDE
Key points at a glance
Check overall frame width and temple pressure.
Check whether the temple bend is too strong.
Check pad angle and pressure distribution.
Recheck overall fitting force.
GLANOS FITTING CHECK
GLANOS fitting check order
- Front
Check reference alignment. - Nose pads / bridge
Check nose support and pressure. - Width
Check for excessive temple pressure. - Temple bend
Use only the rear support required.
CAUTION
“No movement” does not equal “good fitting”
Glasses should remain stable during normal activity while also staying comfortable over long wear. Overall balance matters more than maximum grip.
GLANOS EYEWEAR
There is a reason glasses feel uncomfortable.
