01 · TEMPLE LENGTH

Does the temple length suit your face?

A temple that is too short may bend before reaching the ear and pull on the upper ear.

A temple that is excessively long can make it difficult to place the bend correctly or leave unnecessary length behind the ear.

Check where the temple actually crosses and bends around the ear, not only the printed number.

02 · TEMPLE BEND POSITION

Does the bend start too early?

If the bend begins too far in front of the ear, it can press the upper or rear ear.

If it begins too late, the frame may not be supported well behind the ear.

The bend should follow the wearer’s actual ear position.

03 · BEND ANGLE

Is the bend too deep?

Even with the correct bend position, too much angle can press or pull behind the ear.

A frame should stay secure without clamping the ear aggressively.

04 · LEFT-RIGHT EAR HEIGHT

Your ears may not be at exactly the same height

Small left-right ear-height differences are common.

Identical bends on both sides can create stronger pressure on only one ear.

Fit for the wearer’s final level and comfort rather than perfect mechanical symmetry.

Is the frame already too tight at the temples?

Pressure that feels like an ear problem may start at the temples.

A narrow frame or inward temple spread can compress the whole side of the head and continue behind the ears.

06 · FRONT WEIGHT

Check whether the rear fitting is compensating for a heavy front

Large or heavy lenses can increase forward movement.

If the bend was made too strong to stop that movement, pressure behind the ears can increase.

The issue is often excessive rear hold used to compensate for front weight, not weight alone.

07 · TEMPLE TIP

Check the shape and material of the temple tip

Metal frames use many temple-tip structures.

A sharp edge, deformation or small focal contact point can cause local pain.

Check older frames for tip damage or positional changes.
